Targa Tasmania is the world’s largest, longest and hardest tarmac rally event.

On the back SoDUS’s feature length documentary ‘LIVING THE PORSCHE’, we were invited to document the 2014 Targa Tasmania event.

Targa Tasmania is the world’s largest, longest and hardest tarmac rally event. The concept is directly drawn from the best features of the Targo Florio, Mille Miglia, the Coupe des Alpes and the Tour de Corse. However, as SoDUS soon discovered, Targa Tasmania is not a slow motion re-run; it is a genuine “red-blooded” motorsport competition.

With a team of two, SoDUS competed in their own race, beating road closures, combatting consistent rain and creeping cold, to document the event. Specifically we followed eight time Targa Tasmania winners Jim Richards and Barry Oliver, as they once again raced the course in a Porsche Cayman S. Fast cars, amazing scenery and a great feeling of comradery perfectly summed up this production.

All may not have ended as both the racing and filming team would have hoped, but SoDUS sure did have fun along the way.
