For this shoot, SoDUS partnered with Rotorworks to capture aerial filming that matched the existing creative in style and perspective.
What do the ultimate driver and the ultimate dad have in common? The power and performance of Toyota.
SoDUS was given the task of taking an existing creative for the Toyota 86 and weaving in a new story for the Toyota Corolla. The 86 creative featured legendary drifter Keiichi Tsuchiya, pushing the 86 to the limits in outback Australia. Our new creative featured legendary dad David Griffin, going about his daily routine, trusting the performance and reliability of the Corolla.
Both cars were born of the same origin – Toyota’s dedicated team of designers and engineers – sharing the same dedication and passion on both car models.
The 86 creative was filmed in outback Australia, with a production team in the hundreds. Our Corolla creative was filmed in suburban Sydney, with a small team and a few coffees to go round. For this shoot, SoDUS partnered with Rotorworks to capture aerial filming that matched the existing creative in style and perspective.
Outback dirt fields were swapped for suburban streets, racing gear was swapped for smart casual office wear and drifting was swapped for a nice tight roundabout turn.
What resulted was a piece that transformed an existing creative execution to reconfirm Toyota’s credentials when it comes to producing cars born of passion and performance.
